I'm sick of the zumba class on the iPlayer, they love using the most annoying ident (though they're all annoying) for the iPlayer sting. It's not as jarring as the Capes sting of before

They used to have Zoetrope on before BBC Two programmes, just to give you a meaningless loud burst of noise before your programme started. As you say they always seem to chose the most annoying ident

Just noticed Mountain Rescue #1 ident was played out part-way in at 11am, on Network. Haven't noticed this before.

A strange thing happened at 10pm at the handover to the news. Instead of the usual shot of the presenter at the desk, it cut to what very much looked like a live shot of the Newsnight studio. Just a locked off shot of the Newsnight desk with nobody in shot and silence. It was around 4 seconds or so before an abrupt cut to the BBC news at 10. Lucky Evan Davis wasn't sitting there with feet up on the desk or something.

It was a well publicised on-air mistake that even ended up on one of Channel 5's When... Goes Wrong shows.

Here are some papers covering it: I still don't understand how that happened, or why no one notice for 2mins.
