USTV Now is your best bet for watching the American linear tv coverage of the election outside the US for free. They have local affiliates from Harrisburg, PA of CBS, NBC, The CW, FOX and ABC. You can pay an additional fee for Fox News, CNN Domestic, MSNBC etc.

There is also a Kodi add-on for USTV Now, so can watch on a TV if needs be.

It says you must be a US citizen?

The law states you must be over 18 to drink alcohol, doesn't really work out like that though does it.

And it's the same with USTVNow. It's only a tick box to confirm that you're a US citizen.

You might want to read that link yourself. Nothing about it being illegal to drink alcohol under the age of 18. In fact it even talks about legally drinking alcohol at 16 in licensed premises.

It's even legal for 2 year olds to drink alcohol according to that page.

Can this get back on topic, no-one else is here to read the legality of looking at US streams or if babies can be given alcohol.

They will be in the studio on the night itself, but an impressive backdrop for the week before the election on CNN:

This looks fantastic. Just watching it now and the backdrop is a beautiful sunrise over the Washington Monument.

Are they upgrading the main DC studio for election night, or are they just using the rooftop studio because they want to?

I think they may be making some minor adjustments to the DC studio, but it's been on-air concurrently with this setup, so nothing major. This is only a temporary setup outdoors on the roof of the US Chamber of Commerce building, so I think it's more of broadcasting with a pretty view, because.
