I've really enjoyed the NPR Politics podcast, so will probably dip into their online NPR live stream on the night as well. A really excellent team of factual, non-sensationalist journalists and reporters.

Do they run the coverage ad free? Most networks running 7pm-2am, though Fox News topping that by offering "67 hours of live coverage" on election night.

Minimal ads.
Stephen Colbert will be broadcasting live on CBS' premium sister channel Showtime starting at 11PM eastern. The special is called Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going To Clean Up This Sh*t? Being on Showtime allows him and his guests to be uncensored. Colbert described is special as “Get all the election news without all the ethics and standards of news."

Sorry if this was already posted - I went back the past three pages.
Any means of watching the program from overseas?

Not that I'm aware of.

Im kinda surprised the PBS America in the UK isnt going to be carrying the PBS Election Night Coverage presented by PBSNewshour. PBSNEWSHOUR by far is the newscast of record. So for those of you interested in a broadcast that showcases exceptional journalism and doesnt fall into the stereotypes, see if you can get it.
PBS AMERICA is shown on Freesat (156) Virgin Media (276) Sky (534). One of the best news programs by far is FRONTLINE and I put that in the same category as 60 Minutes. Exceptional journalism. Not the shouty stuff more people assume all American journalism seems to be.

PBSNewshour works in conjunction with NPR (national public radio)

Apparently they live stream their broadcast and of course post it. Not sure if its GEOblocked..

Also PBS NewsHour is on the channel ABN (Sky channel 235) at 6am. Broadcasting it within hours of its airing in the US.

But this election is draining me, so it might opt for the Weather Channels alt-coverage.
Quote:
Escape the Election with The Weather Channel

Network Announces it will have Absolutely Zero Election Coverage on Election Day

ATLANTA (Nov. 1, 2016) -- This election year, American citizens have endured wall to wall breathless tension from our colleagues in the news media, and our forecast calls for a 100% chance that will continue through election day. Wouldn't it be nice if we all had a place to escape? If you think The Weather Channel is going to tell you to sit back, relax and stick your head in the clouds... you are correct.

This election night, as other networks go low, The Weather Channel goes high... to the sky that is. Clouds! Rainbows! Autumn Splendor! And... yes... smooth jazz! Weather will have it all in a 9-hour chill marathon guaranteed to evoke tranquility and set your soul at ease.

Starting at 3 p.m. ET on November 8, the marathon will include the most beautiful, awe-inspiring, and calming weather video and scenery ever caught on tape. This world is a beautiful and magical place after all.

So go vote America and check out election results, but if you want a break from the pundits, pontifications, predictions and politics... turn to Weather.

It's going to be huge.

It's not geoblocked as far as the UK is concerned. PBS Newshour is also available as audio and video podcasts as well. Oh, and the PBS Newshour app is also available in this country, and the livestream is shown there as well.

I would agree as well on Frontline, it is excellent current affairs coverage and well worth watching.

Most PBS programming is also viewable on the PBS Video website and on apps like WNET's Thirteen app. I would love to be able to see WGBH or Thirteen or other PBS stations as live streams online.

The problem as I see it with PBS America, is they are having to edit 57 minute programmes so that they can have as much advertising as possible, so programmes run 75 minutes on PBS America, where they would normally run 57 minutes or so on PBS in America. This is why we don't see the PBS Newshour live or any other show like that, because they're forcing in so much advertising time.

What is the logic of BBC One's election coverage not starting until 11:15pm on Tuesday night? They have an utterly pointless Room 101 repeat sandwiched between the end of the BBC News at Ten and 11:15pm. In the meantime, itv gets a headstart with their coverage at 10:40pm.

What's the point of either of them starting that early when 11pm is 6pm on the east coast of the USA?
There'll be nothing to report for a few hours

Far from it, I'm afraid. Frequent ad breaks and opt-outs for affiliates to cover local races.

Hopefully there will be some non geo-blocked live streams online, including CBSN which always works for me in the UK.

In the past, geoblocking hasn't been so much of an issue as availability. 2012 was great because ABC, CBS and NBC all streamed their network coverage. In previous elections, though, ABC has only streamed their 'digital' coverage which is vastly inferior. They're definitely doing a digital programme again this year, but hopefully they'll offer a choice like they did in 2012.

CBSN wasn't around in 2012 so I hope that coverage will be offered in addition to the network feed rather than instead of it.

Digital-only coverage has always felt like a waste of extra resources to me. NBC have always got it right in my view - a feed of their network coverage with live break-filler content from a second presenter.

The other way you can watch CNN outside the US is to pay for CNNI on Livestation. It's about ~€4/month. I think it's only available in the EMEA region.

You can get CNNI in the UK for free via the (completely above-board) TV Player app and website. I have it on my iPad and Amazon Fire TV stick and it's superb.

Hard to tell for sure, but that looks surprisingly poky, even compared to coverage of the mid-terms in 2014.

In 2012, they had a studio on the plaza itself. The studio itself was fairly basic but the view was great.

MSNBC has been using what I assume to be their election set for things like Morning Joe and The 11th Hour with Brian Williams this week and it looks pretty good - a sweeping view of Rockefeller Plaza on their massive video wall.

The first calls for states won't be made until Midnight, so not really much point starting much earlier.

Room 101 seems a rather apt schedule filler considering how this campaign has gone.

Just to put this into perspective the space they are now in was the glassed in newsroom that MSNBC was using for less than three months. They ditched the glass, the brick, some desks, windows and added some shiny floors.

I hope they build up the Plaza like they have done in years past with the studios overlooking the ice rink. So far nothing appears to have been constructed.

Fox News and CNN have unofficial streams on Youtube. If you have apple TV, you can get the live tv app which has CNN.

US networks seem to make predictions as soon as the polls close for each state, will be interesting to see if they are right.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure the CNN stream on Apple TV is available to US cable subscribers only.

CNN, It's available for free in the UK on Apple TV. There is an app called "TV Player".

It also streams online:

I really want a legit Fox News stream in HD, but it's not available in the UK.
