If the improvements to the rest of the channel are anything to go by, I'm really optimistic for this.
Haven't they been given a pretty substantial budget increase too?

I just happened to be wandering past the ITN building, and noticed that Channel 5's old newsroom on the ground floor has recently been vacated - it's now completely empty.
Not sure whether that makes it more or less likely that they'll be back in there from Monday - they don't have much time to set it all up if so. Safe to assume that's not where the studio is, though.

No they definitely won't be coming from there. The new set is being built in Studio 2 (in the basement). Initially the programme will be coming from PCR 2 but a new control room is being built especially for 5 News which should be on line at a later date.

Am I right in thinking that this 'new set' is VR, so that they can have a seamless move from N&S to GIR without the viewers noticing?
