Is 5pm considered peak?

I read an unfortunate update about Sian Williams on the Irish Independent website tonight. I hope she gets well soon while she is going through her breast cancer treatment amid all this trouble.

The relaunch of 5 News is imminent according to reports, it is scheduled for next month.

Any thoughts on the new look/editorial direction. It has become so insignificant in recent years but a return to ITN (Gray's Inn Rd) and a new editor may push it in a different direction.

It doesn't make sense for Channel 5 to have a gap of only one hour between two half-hour evening news bulletins (at 5:00 and 6:30).

I take it the outgoing editor who is moving to Sky is putting her stamp on the revamp, before leaving it to yet another editor to make their mark on the bulletin?

That's unless Viacom have their own ideas for how the bulletin should be, which unlike their other channels isn't youth skewed.

Sadly my expectations with 5 News are pretty low nowadays - seems to just fulfil a PSB commitment rather than be the innovative service it once was. I assume Sian Williams is staying, or is Emma Crosby returning having had her baby?

No Emma left, Sian replaced her.

Is 5news back at grays inn road yet? Or still in the Northern and Shell building? Anyone got any info of when we will get the new look which was originally proposed for September?

Not long to wait now at all!
