With regard to the amount of US political news being shown on CNNI - let's not forget this is going down as one of the most historic presidential campaigns ever run, if not THE most historic presidential campaigns ever run, so I feel the amount of coverage CNNI is getting is justified.

Is the coverage better than domestic? Domestic is awful. It's always 'someone said something, someone gets offended' and spend an inordinate amount of time on it with a panel of non-experts. It really lacks substance. You don't learn anything useful. I know it's for a domestic audience but I doubt even most Americans understand how their economy, government, federalism, healthcare, etc. actually works so it would be appropriate to do some proper in-depth explaining. I know it's about entertainment and ratings but still..

Having said that about CNN Domestic, all of the major news channels concentrate way to much on that formula. Panels and politics. All day....all night.

I watch CNN the same way I smoke...which is to say that I do both, even though I know it's harmful to my health, and I've been doing a lot more of both because of this awful election.

Seriously? CNN is harmful to your health??? WTF!?!

There's only one news channel that is harmful to health, and that's Fox News, which is harmful to the health of society in general.

All American TV is bad for your health. Rather like American food. Too much of it and you will become Honey Boo Boo's mother. Top tip - stick to Scandinavian television and design, read more, travel to the sunshine for as much vitamin D as possible and go vegan. You're welcome.

Bill Bryson once quipped that "The best that can be said for Norwegian television is that it gives you the sensation of a coma without the worry and inconvenience." Granted, that was back in the late 1980s, when Norway had a single television service, but still!

So Ashleigh Banfields new show PRIMETIME JUSTICE debuted on HLN last night from CNN Time Warner Center's newsroom.
A couple of weeks ago CNN updated the desk. The desk features the oval shaped wings that slide out from both sides, allowing for greater flexibility and configurations. In the first shot below the entire desk is pushed against the clear banister at the back, at an angle, the next image its pulled out and the wing extended for the guest and presenter. Clever use space of this postage stamp sized space. I hate that CNN and HLN now have loads of shows shot outside of CNN Center. HLN is increasing these "remote' shows this alongside Michaela Peirera's show out of CNN LA Bureau.

And apparently with some clever lighting and some cityscape backdrops that little riser in the middle of the newsroom is transferred into this. Whilst Im starting to tire of this look from CNN. The transformation is quite remarkable. It must be claustrophobic to be in there.

Its sits in the middle of the newsroom.

Also, the news that AT&T has just agreed to buy CNN's parent company, Time Warner.

Really looks much better now, with proper positions for single headed and double headed presentation.

Very close to Peak CNN, but surely to reach that level Wolf would have to be hosting.
