On my Freeview box, it comes up as I Am Team GB on every ITV channel (including +1).

And according to The Guardian, viewers will see messages such as “We’ve gone running - why don’t you join us?”.

Something like this may be more appropriate:

ITV seem to be launching new gameshows left right and centre at the moment with varying degrees of success.

Bradley Walsh's Cash Trapped went out recently, painfully complicated.

Alphabetical, Jeff Stelling's latest vehicle. Seems to want to be Every Second Counts meets Countdown.

500 Questions going out now. Looks really slick and appears to be an American format. Filmed in Germany apparently according to the Radio Times. Could get into this I reckon.

I'm not sure about 500 questions presumably after a new primetime hit.

As for the other two, they usually trial a few new gameshows during the summer in very short runs. Last year it was Rebound and Freeze(or something like that off the top of my head with Mark Durden-Smith).

I got into Cash Trapped after the run. Confusing at first but quite gripping when you get into it especially after the same contestants have had a long run.

Both Cash Trapped and Alphabetical, and probably 500 Questions, going with the annoying trend of jackpots which are rarely winnable - Bothers Bar think Alphabetical's jackpot is impossible due to the speed of Stellings delivery.

Surely this would have been applicable as far back as when the only competition was the BBC. It's more about the message than expecting everyone to turn off the TV and go outside.

Something which has gone under reported in the whole initiative is the National Lottery are making a millionaire for every gold medal Team GB won on Saturday night - though they capped it at 30, probably thinking we'd get nowhere close. So although ITV is partnering with the National Lottery for the event the main event of it will be on the BBC, even if it is pointing people to the website to find out they've won.

A quiz show is only as good as its host. The right host can turn an otherwise crap format into something semi-decent - look at Strike It Lucky/Rich for example. Would it have been the same show or ran for 17 years without Barrymore? Would The Golden Shot have been as successful without Monkhouse? Heck that floundered until he returned!

I liked 500 Questions. Only running for four episodes initially, it would certainly help break up the monotony of pre 9pm ITV these days.

The golden shot had to other presenters and there ended up going back to Bob.

So the story goes, Bob was sacked after he was mistakenly accused of taking bribes. So Norman Vaughn took over - literally, at the end of Bob's last show - and proved that the format wasn't as easy to work with as Bob made it look. Norman, as well as Charlie Williams who succeeded him, become a lot more flustered than Bob ever did and lacked the ability to cover up any errors with the Monkhouse wit.

I'm not sure if it was a crap format saved by a good host, or the scale of the show (still pretty extravagant for its time, IMO) was hard to keep under control.

Strike It Lucky/Rich, though, is a prime example of the host saving a bad format. Michael Barrymore even admitted once during an interview that the format was "s**t". But it is worth noting that at least a third of the show consists of him talking and joking with the contestants at the start of the show. Yet there aren't many people who would've been able to have that instant chemistry with members of the public like Michael did.
