It seems ITV are trialling the six episodes per week format - extra episode tonight and next Thursday.

Yes I thought that too.

Are they still making up for episodes from Euro 2016?

You lose all credibility by beginning your post with the suggestion that The Chase should be replaced by Shortland Street. The rest of the post then isn't worth reading - and your schedule is as confusing as hell.

'Shifting the news back' to before many people come home from work is a great idea as well!

Can we leave fantasy schedules to DS?!

Did I say it would be replaced by Shortland Street, or is that your assumption? Plus I did mention it could be home to a new British soap opera (or did you not read that bit)

As it is it go out at 4pm, which now seems to be a gameshow slot as well, and does well; or even at 630pm on either Monday or Friday, or even both, thus gaining even more viewers than currently

As for the news shifting to 530pm (as suggested by another poster) being a bad idea - it would work as it worked for Channel Five before having to shift it 5pm for Neighbours (and that's lot works for them as well), plus for many decades ITV had their evening news between 530pm and 6pm (ITN News at 545/ITN news at 540) and it worked - especially with having News at Ten.

You put Shortland Street at 5pm. The Chase airs at 5pm. Therefore you've replaced it.

And what worked in the 80s and 90s news wise doesn't necessarily work why - there has been no calls at all from anyone to bring back the Early Evening News since 1999 - the one thing most people agree worked well with the whole News at Ten fiasco was the launch of the Evening News.

We just had an errant shot of the Imperial War Museum behind the viaduct at the start of the second part!

It's one of those new giant brick trams. Parked up.

Does anyone know if there was a "scenes that some viewers might find upsetting" at the start of part one? My box cut off the beginning. Just wondered, seeing how there was one at the start of part two, even though the actual violence was at the end of part one.

Perhaps because there was lots of blood? I expect some viewers may have found that disturbing.
