Will the new Sky News studios be QHD/ UHD ready?

It will probably mean 4K Kay Burley, could be too much for some tv forumers!

Interestingly in America (does anyone know otherwise) there does not seem to be any 4k news channels.

Sky news is now taking live feeds from one of the Franch channels, in Nice.

Fox news is taking Sky news who is talking a Franch feed.

Interesting that Fox News seems to have the domestic Sky News HD feed with the UK clock on it and not the international feed....

That's been the case for as long as I can remember and it works both ways.

After having a look at BBC, Sky, Fox, CNN and AJE and F24, Sky's lower third graphics seem to be the most polished, tidy and modern out of all the networks. I've never really appreciated how good they look until I compare them to other networks.

Anna did a great job with that coverage tonight but at the risk of getting told off I don't think they should have replaced her with a junior presenter like Tom Macleod

I agree. Hasn't Martin Stanford come in overnight in the past for major breaking news? Obviously that won't happen now.

I also thought it was poor that the news presenter wasn't referenced by either in vision or by name at all, and just suddenly appeared at the top of the hour. It wouldn't have took a thought just to say, "This is Sky News and I'm ..." or just put up a strap.

I have no idea who this presenter is.

Yes Martin did used to come in I remember him being on during hurricane Sandy as 1 example. They even had Kay Burley in 1 night when they found Raoul Moat. The Sunrise presenter may start at 5am like they have in the past when a big story is going on.

Tom usually does the sports updates but has recently done a few overnights.

ISTR with the Raoul Moat story, Kay Burley didn't appear in vision - there was speculation she was on the end of an ISDN line somewhere.

Tom seemed to do quite well anyway. Not much stumbling from what I saw and seemed quite confident in delivery. There seemed to be no panic either. Not convinced the other 'junior' presenters would have coped anywhere near as well as he did.
