One consequence of yesterday's channel hopping was that - because I always end up pausing live TV and getting way behind - I had to catch up via the iPlayer "live" (rewindable) streams.
And because I that, I found out that - on the BBC2 live stream, at least - they do 50p now (presumably 720p). I only had it for a short period though, so perhaps it decided my bandwidth wasn't high enough.
I thought that was only available on non-live iPlayer.

On Kodi, I've been able to access the 720p/50 live streams. Even the News channel is 720/50.
Why aren't they using the studio(s) or positions available in/on top of the Media Centre?
Because they (BBC Sport) don't have a studio on the media centre roof. They have stand up positions and that's it.
Suppose they could have used the IMG studio on the roof used for 'Live@Wimbledon' as they all bugger off for the night at 7pm, but watching that live stream via YouTube, it's a really poor position, which does nothing (except on the three shot) to give you a Vista of the grounds.
Quite good if you like blurred shots overseas broadcasters set up and de rig after a solo piece to camera in the background, though.
Wimbledon isn't on BBC1 Wales tomorrow due to Wales football team homecoming coverage. This means BBC2 Wales will be showing BBC2 network until 1:45" then BBC1 network until 6:00 and then BBC2 network (and then BBC1 network no doubt from 7:00)
Will Wales get a clean feed of have to listen to Sue Barker telling viewers to change channel that doesn't apply in Wales.
