Scraping the barrel for presenters today on 5 News. Julian Druker with the 5pm bulletin and Dani Sinha with 5 News Tonight.

I always quite like Julian Druker as presenter, I think he has potential to step up at some point.

At least he isn't Warren Nettleford who was quickly replaced as headline presenter by Sinha.

I'm not sure that it's sad news, it's good news that she's beaten it.

The sad thing about that article is that they call her a "former BBC Breakfast presenter", not "5 News presenter" Sian Williams. I guess it shows how badly Channel 5 and 5 News are regarded.

Charlie Stayt mentioned Sian's breast cancer fight during the paper review at 6am on Breakfast as a "former Breakfast presenter" and that they had no idea about her fight.

Good to hear that her privacy has been respected.

The 5 News end-board has the ITN logo but says "© Channel 5 Broadcasting" in small print at the bottom, even though ITN bulletins on ITV and Channel 4 both have ITN and the year of production mentioned in small print at the bottom (The ITV News logo takes prominence on ITV and the ITN logo remains prominent on Channel 4 and The Agenda with Tom Bradby has "Independent Television News" and the year in Roman numerals at the bottom of the screen and the ITN Productions logo and slogan in big print).

What is the reason for the difference in terms of copyright reference between the news on Channel 5 and the news on ITV and Channel 4?

Probably just different terms in the contract C5 has negotiated.

As C5 likes to keep changing their news provider it may be beneficial for them to own the copyright so archive material can be used by a new provider, but that is pure speculation.

An ITN logo on ITV? Wonders never cease! I was expecting the ITV News logo to be used there.

At first I would have said it's because itv own 40% of ITN, and Channel 5 are a plain old customer.

But that doesn't explain the same copyright wording, shoved onto the end of Channel 4 News.

At the end of The Agenda, the logo of ITN appeared as part of the title "ITN Productions", which is separate from ITN's news section, along with the ITN Productions slogan "Create something amazing. Today". Then the end-board saying "A production for ITV News and Current Affairs" appeared with ITN in small print at the bottom.
