Bid

A mock I made 3 years ago and never got round to posting (May 2016)

There was once a shopping channel called Bid...

Watching Ideal World with Peter Simon reminded me of just how long Bid had been off air - just over 2 years now - which in turn reminded me of this mock I made almost three years ago now that I never got round to posting on TV Forum. So, I thought now was as good a time as any to post it for everyone to see.

This is what I thought (at the time) would be an improvement to their graphics...

The general idea was to use the logo as a backdrop for the product information, rather than shrink it into the corner as the then graphics did.

Obviously, as three years have passed since I made these, seeing these with fresh eyes does highlight a few areas I would change, were I ever to find the original files I used to create these.

Not a criticism of your mock but I always hated the way the "press 1 for size x, press 2 for size y" was presented originally as they always felt tacked on to the presentation. It was something that IMO they never managed to sort out properly.

That aside, I like these, though I would probably suggest the left "stack" (for want of a better word - with the quantity, price etc) is too crowded with the countdown clock.

No, though David in Brighton fancied some brown towels.

Not bad at all. Good stuff.

It's a shame none of the graphics feature a Gemstone Globe. A fitting tribute nonetheless.

I agree with the options list - the graphics were never really designed to handle them, though I can think of ways now to neaten that up.

I also agree about the clock - another aspect that was tacked on in their graphics - at the very least I would now ensure consistent alignment and placement of the chevrons.

I have since also found the original files, so I should be able to have a play with them and see if I can improve them.
