UTV sell TV business to ITV

Yes they didn't do a normal 6pm, they did a 15 minute programme at 6:25pm.

UTV are quite old school, so would think nothing of using a one camera CSO screen for almost all bulletins except the main one.

Just like many regions used to do, but thesedays it's out of favour.

A516 on Twitter saying that Ofcom has approved ITV's plans to increase the minutes of current affairs on UTV each week from 26 to 33.

Oh hang on, the article says UTV already provides much more than this way week anyway so maybe not such great news.

Loop hole, utv evening news has full news bulletin, with current affairs botted on; mon to thursday. So its possible it might improve.

Though if you've ever seen it, you've got to wonder who in NI is interested in Oil Prices at ten to 11 on a weeknight in their 'business brief' slot...then you realise it's a sponsored slot.

Can someone confirm to me whether or not ITV Nightscreen is being shown on UTV Ireland overnight as I am in dispute with DigiGuide which is listing it each night, and ITV are apparently telling them this is correct.

ITV Nightscreen is not shown on UTV Ireland. They display a caption saying programmes begin again at 5am.

Just checked it and it says "programmes start at 06.00" even though week nights there is teleshopping from 5am before GMB

I take it new re-brand until the move then? especial with the news.

^Plenty of studios have had their existing sets relit when they launched a new generic look. No reason UTV Live's should be any different. They don't have to wait until they move to relaunch.
