Really like it, I'm a wee bit sad about Sky Atlantic's soundtrack being binned off though- I've grown accustomed to putting it on late night and hearing it half asleep Razz

I did like the Atlantic idents, but for me the original soundtrack was much classier.

Sounds like Sky TG24 in Italy will become Sky News Italia or something like that.

We have now also aligned the channel logos for Sky Atlantic and Sky Arts across the group, allowing for more cross-territory marketing campaigns to be delivered in the future. Sky Sports and Sky News will be aligned in all territories over the next six months, along with the UK’s market-leading Sky Sports app launching in Germany and Italy later in the year.

I wonder whether the new Sky1 idents will replace Sky Uno in Italy?

There's another alignment coming first though.

I'm glad Sky has stayed with the glossy/ 3D look, because there's too much branding that has gone flat recently. It's nice to have a splash of something different, and the the new glass effect on the logo's do make them look quite contemporary.

They've also gone against the recent trend by actually including the channel logo in the idents. Whatever next?

Agree though not keen on how it just appears in that Umbrella ident.

Its nice to see 3D logos in use across the Sky channels. I just wish they would keep it going when it comes to online. Instead a 2D version is used.

This would look much nicer and consistent with the onscreen branding...

With 2D and print, you need a logo that is vectorised and able to be resized as needed. The 3D logo would need to be re-rendered for different sizes, and it no doubt has post production work done to it also.

Spot on. It's always important to have a 2D vector version of 3D logos for print and online use. 3D stuff often doesn't scale to smaller sizes as cleanly either.
