Oddly the Sky News simulcast on Sky1 isn't available for NOW TV customers.

I've never understood why they don't just shove Sky News on to Now TV and include it with any pass - a bit like Sky Sports News HQ on the Now TV box.

It won't boost their coverage by much, but it'll give them coverage within the app and on extra devices like Xbox etc

Well, Sky News live is already available via the Sky News app on Roku/Now TV boxes and Sky News International is also on YouTube, which I stream via the Chromecast, which gives 1080p PQ instead of the poor SD PQ on Freeview.

Yep, intended acknowledgement with the "won't boost their coverage by much" comment. I just see it as an easy way of "boosting" the number of channels they have on the service.

Indeed. Real Lives should also be on the Entertainment Pass, although considering Viceland will be on NOW TV from September, I suspect they'll add more channels in conjunction with the launch of the NOW TV Smart Box.

Interesting thought in passing, which was suggested by a friend in conversation, NOW TV might offer some FREE content from Sky over and above the Freeview Sky offerings on the new box. Sky Sports News, was suggested as one of the possibles, as a way to get people to buy in to a Sky Controlled platform and tempt them to go further.

SSN sounds likely given its currently free on a Now TV box if you have any Now TV pass.

So are we looking at the same as the Now TV box exclusive app for SSN, where NOW TV box/Smart Box users can access special freebie events via an app which authorises the stream by seeing if you have a valid pass instead of accessing the channel via the GUI?

A similar system may work to allow NOW TV customers to buy Sky Box Office events.

There's a sale on box and pass packs on the Now TV website, they're 40% off. This is for the 2 months movies, 3 months entertainment and 2 days sports bundles all £14.99

Amazon are just beating Sky's prices at £14 for the 2 months movies and 3 months ents bundles.

Cheapest one month sports and box bundle is still £34.99 at Argos, Amazon and Currys PC World.
