Worst TV Announcer

Some time ago, Banksey started a little thread entitled the Best TV Announcer. It was interesting reading. Now I think its only fair that we hear from those of you who've cringed at some of those 'golden nuggotts' between the programmes.
One of my favorites was when Brian Nissan (Southern/TVS fame) was sleeping during a Saturday afternoon matinee in those good 'ole in-vision days, only to be told by his TC (Transmission controller) that he was due to go back on in 30 seconds. He started his link to camera with a big red ring on his forhead, obviously where he's been resting it on the desk....Classic.
I could think of many more, but will only add if you do!!

The worst announcer is the one that says: 'Now, Look North, with Christa Ackroyd, Peter Levy' and then adds on 'And Clare Frisby'!

The one that says 'Christa Ackroyd and Peter Levy' only is fine!

Whoever says 'HTV News, with Jonathan Hill & Lucy Cohen'. It's a welsh voice trying to be American!

Worst announcer is Stuart McWilliam on C5. All those years of his talking over the end of Prisoner pretending he knows what he's talking about when he clearly doesn't have a clue were too much. I know it's only one show, but it's pretty much the only thing I watch on C5 and slipping up with fans of a cult TV show is a very dangerous thing to do.

The LWT Announcer I expect is very good, but I wish he would stick to doing LWT.

He piped up again tonight after Emmerdale, to say 'Emmerdale is back on Tuesday at 7, coming up next Coronation Street'

I'm sure even YTV's Bob Preedy (who's on tonight) could have said that himself

The reason the LWT announcer pipped up again on the end credits of Emmerdale was because the end credit promotion was generated by LWT, so it was timed for the promotion to run right up to the sponsor bumper.
I've no doubt we'll be seeing a lot more networked annoucements from London, at least they sound like they know what they are doing!!

The worst announcer is the german (I think) guy who works for Eurosport News and puts on the funniest and worst american accent you have ever heard.

that was glen at the end of emmerdale farm tonight. i like it when he's on. he's my favourite and i'd love it if he did more that we can hear in scotland. i have to watch him on satelite usually.

I think this is a first class idea but would like to add that fear of litigation is at the forefront of my mind.

Does Glenn Thompsett really exist or did someone just make him up? Trish Bertram! Invite her and Charlotte Green (Radio 4 newsreader) to a party and only one of them will turn up.....think about it;)

i thought glenn had made you up banksey. it's all a windup isn't it cos glen did the taunton army thing the other night on htv. i'm sure it didn't say anything about banksey at the end.

An impressive attempt at a smokescreen! You're not fooling anyone by avoiding the question. Next you'll be claiming that LWT is full of Pods due to all staff being replaced by aliens indentical in every way to the humans they have bodysnatched......They're everywhere y'know.....Stay in your homes!!

Not sure who the announcer was but I was watching LWT about two weeks ago, on my death bed suffering from 'flu, and I hear the announcer say something along these lines 'Coming up later on LW Twee, er, LWT, Oliver Twist'.
