Sorry if I'm being silly, but where does it say that you get the TiVo software on that page?

It doesn't. I was just linking to the page to confirm that he was talking about the right box.

It's been stated several times the TiVo software will eventually roll out onto the V HD Box. Smile

Oh, I see, sorry. Smile Thought I was being very slow.

I'm looking forward to that, I've had the V HD box for about a year now and it's the best VM box I've used, although I'm sure TiVo is a great piece of kit, I don't spend as much time watching and recording TV as I used to, so it's a great little DVR-less box.

Does anyone here have one of the new Tivo boxes?

Am planning on phoning Virgin and having a re-gig of my package but not sure if Tivo would be a benefit.

Have had a look on Digital Spy and Cable Forum but it seems that the place is full of lovers and haters and no one seems all that balanced (not surprised but a little unhelpful)!

Is it worth an extra £3 a month?

I'm going to call to cancel at least some part of the service. I'm paying £71 a month for 20MB and XL telly, and there's a campaign running on TV suggesting 30MB + telly for less than half that. Outrageous. That said I have multi-room in 3 rooms, but that's only a tenner of the cost.

Nah - they can stick their TiVo up their head-end.

That seems a very high monthly cost, Gav.

I have the TV/Broadband/Phone package from Sky, which rarely comes to more than £45 a month with call charges outisde the 'freebie' allowance.

I am about to add the HD Pack (for another £10.25 per month), but only because that means I can get the bigger 1TB box for £49 if I keep the pack for 12 months.

The only major advantage I can see of Virgin would be your 30MB broadband. Mine offers 'up to 20MB', but the line can only handle up to 8MB: which seems to do for my purposes. However, I can envisage that being insufficient for a family sharing a single broadband connection on WiFi.

Quite honestly, I'd be better off with a crack habit.

I'm just not a fan of sky, and I don't plan on paying BT to come and fit a telephone line. Time for a bit of hard ball negotiation, or at the very least they can up my broadband to 50MB for the price I'm paying.

Though heaven only knows what I'd do with all that bandwidth.

Oh yes, and a TiVo box too.

We will see.

So, as an early adopter of Tivo, I get an e-mail today from Virgin Media telling me they are crediting me with a £50 refund as they've dropped the price of Tivo to coincide with their TV ad campaign.

Credit where it's due and all that. Very Happy

This does sound good: Spotify to be available on Virgin Media Tivo set top boxes.

It doesn't say whether a regular Spotify account will be able to be used, but I'd have thought so
