Justina read the news followed by gnasher Jesson.
Usual recycled (!) news . Bikers in N.wales for the 3rd or 4th t.

That mock of Catherine E W makes her look quite nice !!??
I’d like to see her do the ITV weekend sport. Anyone would be better than Felicity Barr.

No Ruth today then - sigh! Oh well we had Emma Jesson!

And I dont think there is a late bulletin tonight as Justina didnt mention it - she didnt say who would be on tommorow either!

Has anyone noticed that the Harlech House of Graphics has been updated? It hadnt been updated for about 2 years and I thought they had given up on it but there are a few new bits on it.

The website can be found here;

http://www.hhg.org.uk

Port Talbot was mentioned on the ITV national news today - people had to be evacuated due to forest fires. PT is literally a stone throw away from where I live.

And the weekend HTV Wales newsreader is Catharine Evan Williams!!!!!! Top Story is the fire at Baglan, Port Talbot!

We also have a few new series on ITV1 Wales in May.

Fishlocks Wild Tracks is back on 1st May at 7.30pm and Barry Welsh is Coming returns the same day at 10.30pm. And Pop Factory is due back soon - 8th May I think it is?

On 1st May "Wales Decides" will cover the election and there is a special HTV News Election programme at 2.30pm on Friday 2nd May!

Indeed, The Pop Factory is back at 2330 on 8th May, with the, as the website puts it, "very lovely" Steve Jones, as usual from the old fizzy drinks factory of the same name in Porth, Rhondda. Fourth series in total now, but second on HTV.

And he's going to be joined by -- as if Planed Plant, Saturday Show Extra, Dial-a-Date and her fantastic pop group, CIC *snigger*, isn't enough -- Sarra Elgan [Rees]! Ah, but I like her anyway, she's great, so I don't mind her on it too. Though she wants to be careful -- she's gonna end up being the Welsh Davina McCall and end up everywhere! Got a bit of a monopoly there, S4C~, BBC ONE, CBBC Channel, ITV and now HTV..

More info, as usual, at http://www.htvwales.com/thepopfactory -- Good old "ITV1WALES Online"..

Details and pictures of the three presenters at ~
Steve Jones
Liz Fuller -- Ex Miss UK, From Swansea
Sarra Elgan -- Although there are no details on her, sadly

I get the impression this section was written by a woman, quite enamoured with Steve, but clearly not fussed on Sarra..

Both Liz and Steve are ex-models. Well, you couldn't tell, could you..? Rolling Eyes

The Waterfront minisite is also very comprehensive in finding out everything you need to know about the forthcoming Assembly elections as well, http://www.htvwales.com/waterfront, with loads of drop-down boxes etc.

As for HHG, check out these for old-school! ~

Few listings then.

Tonight's news bulletins ~
BBC Wales Today : 1725-1735
HTV News : 1720-1735

Welsh Assembly Election Coverage, 01.05.2003 ~
BBC Wales -- EO³ Elections, 2235-0600 [Looooong time!]
HTV -- Wales Decides, 2300-0300 [Decent coverage from HTV, compared to half an hour in England and Scotland, if at all!]
S4C~ -- Etholiad EO³, 2235-0400 [V Loooong time for S4C~ Don't think it's ever shut down later than 0030 on Digidol]

I cant wait for the new series of The Pop Factory - for the music of course!!! Razz

Im not suprised Steve was a model as he is gorgeous - even better than I remember!

And lol at them saying "the very lovely Steve Jones" - well its true he is lovely as well as gorgeous and a Welsh accent too - he's perfect.

And I think HTV have done well not to go OTT with the election coverage like the BBC.

Cath Evan-Williams is on now with the news and sports results - hey she isnt a bad sports presenter is she!!! - Swansea lost against Leighton Orient 3-1 - Grrrr! Damn them!

And yes seeing that old aerial HTV ident again! Memories come flooding back - never mind we still have the newer HTV logo on the News - at the moment!

Carole Green is with us tommorow on the news! Actually we havent done to bad this weekend have we with news presenters - 1 Justina, 1 Catherine and Carole for tommorow. Juliet or Tara for Monday and i'll be happy! It will be back to normal I suppose on Tuesday with you know who!

Yes, Catharine is a good news presenter -- it is nice to have some old school sometimes, just the bank holiday weekend seems the only time to see some, Carole tomorrow etc.
Catharine's full name was used today as well on the aston, and she went through all those rugby results perfectly!

The BBC had Jayne Case, in sporty red, from the small studio I think -- the titles were cut off rather abruptly.

Emma Jesson doing the 3 forecasts today, just the one for Central in that massive region.
Sadly, Catharine didn't wish us a Happy "Weester Beekend" like Justina did yesterday, bless her.
One day she'll be double-barrelled perhaps, Justina Simpson-Jenkins or something to make it slightly more Welsh.

Its good news that The POP Factory is back on 1Wales. I have never seen it on 1Wales, last lime I saw it, it was on BBC Two Wales. As I have never seen it on HTV I wonder if there are many changes from how it was on TWO Wales. Anyway why did it move from Two Wales to ITV1Wales? I'm sure this has been asked loads of times but I am interested to know.

I'm sure your right that he's Georgious but are there any pics of him hanging about on the net just to prove your point even more. If you can find 1 that would be great, as I can not find one at the moment.

LOL yes she can come to Swansea to report and say "Justina Simpson-Jenkins, HTV News, in Swansea" I noticed Justina messed up a line yesterday - she is sweet though. She almost always wears that red outfit when she's behind the desk. Its quire rare for her to read the news lately though - She used to do GMTV bulletins at least once a week.

TV D - I dont suppose you have your eye on Justina? Is your surname Jenkins by any chance? Razz

Catharine is good yes - I like her! And today she smiled not once but TWICE!! She's getting the hang of this news reading business now isnt she! Before long she will be confident enough to fill at 6pm.

Why does Sally Johnson never do weekends? Ive noticed, apart from the 3 senior presenters Jonathan, Lucy and Steve, she is the only other one not to do weekend. She *always* does a Thursday and Friday. We want more Sally, We want more Sally! And Sally is HTV's longest serving newsreader - did u know that? She's been there since 1992 - before the HTV franchise revamp in 1993!

Surely the longest running news reader has to be Steve Taylor with the longest reporter being Giles Smith?

No Steve came as a Sports Presenter in 1993! He didnt read the news until about 1995 ish. And even if you count 1993 as when he started Sally still came before him. She was there about a year before the HTV revamp. Jonathan came as a reporter in 1993 and Lucy in 1995 I think. Juliet is 1997.

Well I know Steve Taylor joined in 1994, though Giles Smith has probably been there longer than Sally. But I haven't seen him read the news for about a year now.

And no, Jez, my surname isn't Jenkins! Mine's actually Scottish, God knows where that comes from Confused No Scottish people in my family.

Justina likes red and pink I've noticed, and she now has her section in the HTV Wales Who's Who pages!
I want to know about Catharine and where she's from, since I reckon she sounds like she's from the west too [poor thing].

And they spelt Ruth's name wrong as well! W-I-G-N-A-L-L. Simple.

Oh I thought you fancied yourself as a husband of Ms Simpson then! I know you are keen on her!

Giles is a reporter though he doesnt read the news (I know he has in the past but tough!!!) Sally is the longest serving newsreader! She's been there since at least 1992 - she was there in the days of Nicola, Wiggy, Alan Rustad and the late Huw weeks.

I'll take a look at the HTV site now - I wonder if Catherine is from the bad place! LOL She put a posh accent on for the end buit at lunchtime though "And thats it for the mooooment" Its strange how I disliked both Ruth and Cath and now I like them a lot!
