Is this going to be one of those rare occasions when ITV don't have adverts, or will the whole coverage be interrupted by them ?

ITV will have adverts yes, but they will most likely be every 30 mins, not 15.
As for big breaking news they will not opt out of it.
I can remember when there was some bombing in China, and it happened during the release of the President Clinton Tapes, which of course every network was playing in full.
Sky put the bombing in a split screen formation with the sound playing on the Clinton stuff, they won an award for 'innovation during a live news event' or something like that.
News24 does not have any 'special coverage' it is merely what will be played out on BBC1, News24 has no coverage to call its own.
And obviously there are no overnight bulletins, the election night goes on for hours!

I bet if News 24 where to have their own Election Night Programme, you'd say flippin BBC, wasting license payers money !

Of course.
Nothing better than being two faced!
But either way they do waste so much money!
They have too many cameras on the scene at once, and even when they do they can't get decent pictures.

News24 is clearly not seen by the BBC as 'individual' enough to have its own programme.

N24 will be re-broadcasting the BBC1 Election coverage. If a big story breaks, N24 will cover it & BBC1 will opt-in to N24.

The reason N24 is not producing its own coverage is so that the whole of the BBC's technical resources are available for the night to provide (probably!) the most comprehensive coverage

And the most biased, naturally.
