I've been with Virgin for almost a year now, but my sister still has Sky. I went to dog-sit for her last week and tried to catch up on The Matt Lucas Awards, and it seemed to me that Sky's on-demand service is still as dire as I remember it. It took an age for it to eventually play, and even then, it refused to download anything past 19 minutes. Is this still a Sky Broadband-only thing?

It works great for me on my 6mb connection. It's now open to all ISPs. I think they recommend at least 3mb to work well.

It must be her connection - you can play things almost instantly on our 70mbps BT Infinity connection.

The BBC have FINALLY moved the awful DOG on their iPlayer downloads on Sky so they are in the corner of the screen, rather than languishing randomly somewhere in the 4:3 safe zone.
In further news, the 'attention grabbing red rucksack owner' either has a day off, or has been instructed to keep their personal items off camera.

EDIT:
Blimey. I've just downloaded 'Prisoners Wives' and the DOG is even smaller! Nice to see the BBC is listening and doing something about complaints.

I have no problem with them branding downloads, but at least they are now being sensible.
