Sky Tyne & Wear

I updated by Sky+ app earlier on my iPad and had a nosy through their other apps, and found "Sky Tyne & Wear". Why does Sky have an app for regional news in the Tyne & Wear area?

Sky Tyne & Wear, launched a while ago now. http://tyneandwear.sky.com/

I guess it's a trial of their idea for local broadcasting.

It would be nice to see it rolled out nationally.

Could Sky offer this an interactive app on their platform, via say the yellow button?
