BREAKING NEWS: Sky Sports is to become the exclusive home of Formula 1 from 2019 - https://corporate.sky.com/media-centre/news-page/2016/sky-sports-to-become-exclusive-home-of-f1

Well, that's pissed on C4's bonfire !

Channel 4 give up horse racing to show F1, and then are given three years notice after showing one qualifying race. (That's not exactly how it went down but it's one way to look at it!)

ITV's racing contract runs until the end of 2020, so Channel 4 presumably will still have two years without either F1 or racing

Looks like the British GP and highlights of all other qualifying and races will be on Pick TV come 2019.

But not on a PSB mux, so not 'universally' available

That hasn't stopped BT with Showcase...

I'd be surprised (bar the British GP) if any races would be on Pick at all. If anything they're more likely to end up on Sky Sports Mix or Sky 1.

No but it does rule out Sky One and Sky Sports Mix as you need a subscription package for those. Considering Sky's only FTA channels are universally available, that basically points to Pick.

At least Ch4 has three years, here is something interesting:

So does that mean Pick get the honer?
Is the next post dreaded?
