Awkward (it's been stuck on this for a good 5 minutes now)

As a result of the breakdown, the CA apologised and they have started early with The Muppets

They've ditched the rest of The Simpsons and gone to The Muppets 4 minutes early.

There are lots of tweets similar to the one I posted above, pointing out the irony of it being a Virgin Media advert.

I suspect they'll have to pad it out with trailers at the end to avoid going over advertising minutage rules and to get back to schedule.

Does that count as advertising minutes?

If the end of an ad freezes and then they play more ads? Not sure but if they were then starting the next programme early there's a danger they could go over the advertising minutage at the end of it. They were back on schedule by 18:30 anyway as the new Simpsons started on time.
