Oh my goodness. I can completely see that scene with the redoubtable Mr Rossiter. That would have been a very different show. Maybe even another classic.

Although I love Brucie. He has just the right amount of self-congratulation on display to still remain charming - although still much less than he deserves after a stellar career.

I'd always thought that Tripper's Day and Slinger's Day ran for the same amount of episodes - six each - so it's interesting to see that there were in fact two series of Slinger's Day.

Leonard Rossiter did indeed do six episodes of Tripper's Day (which was the original name of the show). He died during the transmission of that series.

I was 21. The series, and the later one with Brucie, were both awful
