Oh my goodness. I can completely see that scene with the redoubtable Mr Rossiter. That would have been a very different show. Maybe even another classic.
Although I love Brucie. He has just the right amount of self-congratulation on display to still remain charming - although still much less than he deserves after a stellar career.

Leonard Rossiter did indeed do six episodes of Tripper's Day (which was the original name of the show). He died during the transmission of that series.
