Is there any real reason as to why it wasn't shown this week? BBC2's morning schedule was Shaun the Sheep followed by 2 lifestyle programmes (repeats). Normally when SFTW is not on air its due to sporting events.
In any case next week is the final episode before Simon and Tim move to Channel 4.

Indeed, I thought the OP was talking about some new hip cool kids programme which I'd never heard of.

He/she/it is used to it - after all, look at his/her/its username: Their real name is "Algernon Matthew Ontario Shane Cuthbertville the 100th."
Back to the Q as to why SFTW wasn't on, My take .... Rugby and Football (in England and Wales) displacing Eastenders to BBC TWO and it's ramifications on series transmissions of other programmes, notably the repeat of Escape to the Country which unlike SFTW continues in the schedule.
EastEnders Omnibus is often on BBC Two these days, it has been on 3 of the last 5 weeks and also is for the next two weeks, it makes sense for it to be a permanant BBC Two fixture because by switching channels it breaks series links.
Today EastEnders is followed by TWO FILMS totalling 4 hours, so no reason why EastEnders could not have started at 12:35 and SFTW gone out as normal.
Particularly when it would've been the penultimate episode. If they weren't going to show it this week, they may have well have ended it last week, to be honest.

Probably done for easy scheduling, and to break the viewers from watching the last episode, incase they mention the move and manage to get them to follow.
It wasn't even on last week in Scotland - viewers were instead treated to the Scottish Liberal Democrats Conference, live from Inverness. Gripping stuff.
