Pay TV proposal for Freeview

Unfortunately this is the problem. With it being envisaged that pay TV would not return to DTT during the lifetime of the current boxes, the majority of them do not include a CAM slot with it being considered surplus to requirements.

It will require many people (including myself, I sold my On Digital box in favour of buying a new FTA receiver) to buy new equipment to receive it.

This could either be a good thing or a bad thing.

It's the best way to start if they are using the same encryption system - do you want to try and convince everyone to go out and buy new hardware to watch your service, or do you want to start with a market of more than a million people who allready posess the necessary equipment and thus just need to pay your subscription.
