Does anybody really care about the Olypmics, let alone TV coverage of a flame being carried around the country? Apart from media bods on TV, I haven't heard one person talk about it at all. It's just a complete non-event when the country is on its knees and everybody's feeling the pinch. It just feels like a massive waste of money whilst the government is screwing everybody using every available means at their disposal. I really hope some broadcasters don't jump on the BBC bandwagon with the Olympics. It'd be nice to have some alternative choices for those uninterested in the games.

I've heard more mentioned about Euro 2012, even if its just to say how awful the England squad is! Even Princess Anne has no interest in the Olympics and she is one of the torch bearers. There might be a bit more interest nearer the time I guess.

The BBC are probably under orders from the government to give the Olympics a lot of hype and make it seem more worthwhile, but the truth is it could have been a few billion spent better.

And show it should. What were your views on them allowing Chris Evans into the county?

The One Show's gone to quite an effort with setting up their sofa and other elements from their usual set in London for the coverage of the torch relay. Is it in a marquee, I wonder?

We've got a nice choice of informal presentation tonight with The One Show on BBC One and more serious coverage over on BBC News. The One Show is getting just a tad cringed at the moment so I think I'll flick over to BBC News for a while.

Any caps?
EDIT: seems more like those studio boxes with windows, similar to those used for The Royal Wedding at Buckingham Palace, than a marquee.

And another shot

They've got to get the balance right as even as a big fan of the game once you've seen the torch relay for a bit you've seen it all really - and over exposure could mean people end up sick of the games before they even begin rather than building excitement.

The BBC have got it right focusing on the regions to cover it, with national coverage dropping in and out at key points.

Was that the record for shortest interview ever? Laughing

Sophie Raworth commentating for BBC ONE & BBC NEWS

Not sure for Sky News, possibly Rachel Younger.

Not any more, BBC News just lost the audio and The One Show are already doing something else anyway. Clive Myrie seemed to imply that it was Jane Hill that was lost, but I think it was Sophie Raworth that was speaking last. It seems that they have lost all audio, they are not even broadcasting background audio from the OB.

Lots of Twitter reaction to this event. Olympic flame is first trend in UK (also trending Worldwide), then David Beckham and The One Show trending third.
