maybe Martin on the desk and Gordan on the sofas like the other day? :
It would be good, but they really need a female - and
not
Tina Bangs!!!!! (Actually she would probably brighten things up a little!). There's only every been one female news presenter - Julia Sharp and then Tina Bangs. Is it the only region (apart from LDN and South East Today) to have one presenter?

'Scuse the Welsh invasion in this thread, but I'm here in the NW now, so it feels right!
I was thinking this, why I still watch Wales Today when I'm here, and not NW Tonight. Probably because it's still my local news programme, but it's also something else about the dynamic of the programme. I thought perhaps it's because Gordon's on his own, but then Wales Today is headed by one presenter -- so it can't be just that... It's just that Gordon looks and seems really lonely there, whereas Jamie and Sara don't. It's weird. Sara sits at the desk, on the desk, by the desk, stands up on the stairs, sits on the couch... she gets about! Feels loads more at ease.
NW Tonight probably does need a female presenter, and despite our mutual appreciation of Tina Bangs, I don't think so. They had Diane Modahl [sp?] on yesterday's show with Gordon, but I reckon Diane Oxberry [sp again?] would be quite good as a second presenter, they look good together at the end before going back to London. But not Heather.
Any comments about other regions (steady, Katherine...) that have just one presenter then, apart from NW Tonight and Wales Today? Does it work for you?
