Anyone who's interested living in the south east can pencil into their diaries (to coin Asa's phrase) Monday 23 July 2001 as the launch for South East Today / London Live. But according to the Head of Regional Programmes in the South East, the proposed London Live will remain Newsroom South East, unless the BBC don't want to give away anything else!

Oooh, many thanks for the information.

Personally I think it's daft having 'Newsroom South-East' and 'South-East Today'! Next they'll be telling us they won't be updating the NSE opening titles map! Smile

Go on BBC, London Live is much better!

Cheers, Asa

Asa, do you have people lined up for capturing all the new titles, stings and end titles?

Yes I do Rob, never fear - TV Home will have it covered! I'm sure the site will be back by then so I'll upload as much as I can get hold of on that Monday.

It might be worth capturing the opening titles at 3:25 on BBC TWO as well as at the main programme to see which is better. I've noticed North West Today use the 'full' titles then, instead of fading in to it. Just a suggestion, its up to you.

I would prefer it to stay as Newsroom South East as it would recognise that the London programme still covers a considerable area surrounding London. After all, we have two separate Look Norths.

Or even better, a return to London Plus which in my opinion had the best news music and titles ever!

I'm sure it will be London Live though, as it is supposed to fit in with the website and the radio station - even though that's been a bit of a flop.

Personally I think it is about time there was a BBC One London as really & truely NSE only covers London & Kent plus it is about time London did get reconised on the BBC plus also when they have BBC 2 South East logos the programmes that follow after are London anyway so I think it is time for a BBC London Ident afterall BBC South East only came into existance in 1985

It would be a good idea, but under the terrestrial transmitter network, Crystal Palace and its relays cover a far larger area than just London, so people like me who live in the home counties are doomed forever to receiving 'London' programmes.

Yes I think that is unfair you keep recieving London programmes that is my point by the way if Crystal Palace stretches far how come LWT who uses it only transmit to London sure the BBC could do the same they aint the strapped for cash although I forgot they are Tight

We do get Carlton and LWT here in Surrey, there will be no difference between the BBC and ITV London regions

Our aerial points towards Crystal Palace so we get Carlton/LWT (not Meridian as my dad works in London and we want to know what's going on) - so will i be receiving London Live (or South East Today)???
