Does anyone know if Newsnight will go corporate cause I think its about the only BBC News programme nearly that hasnt adopted the look. It doesnt feel like its part of the BBC News production. I find it surprising cause it is the BBC's main evening news programme that reviews the day and you would thnk after three years of the corporate look it would have changed by now. I personally think it should look more like the BBC Four news style rather than creme and red. Any other suggestions???

I like Newsnight as it is! They won't be able to change the studio while they have Newsnight Review as this programme is not news related so therefore couldn't go for the BBC News look. Therefore both together would look out of place.

There must be a good reason as to why Newsnight isn't corporate, otherwise it would have been transformed months ago. I'm sure it's been considered in the past.

I think Newsnight is treated by the BBC as a single entity, not within the BBC News umbrella. I think they want Newsnight to remain single and unique, rather than match the style of other programmes. And quite rightly in my opinion.

Also, I don't think Newsnight is actually credited to BBC NEWS in the titles - it's simply BBC.

I really hope they dont! I hate the fact that everything has gone corporate!!!!! NOOO!!

Newsnight should stay as it is!
News 24 should go back to the flags!, and Spotlight should bring back the lighthouse!

Newsnight is apparently just about to get a relaunch so I would imagine the answer to your question is yes.

Whether they'll change the music is another issue. They could have a corporate set without corporate music, remember that.

Newsnight was best when it had the view over London and the oval shaped globe. I'm sure I've got that ident somewhere, either way, it was much better than it is now.

Newsnight's American copy, ABC's Nightline (the one that they were prepared to axe for Letterman), has had similar music since launch, I think. Saying that, the American networks seem very stuck in their ways with regards to music, and that's no bad thing.

I doubt you'll see a fully corporate Newsnight, I think axing the music wouldn't go down to well with the residents of Westminster Village, but who knows.

It was at its best when it had Peter Snow on the programme. It's a bit lacking in something now, not sure what.

Well BBC Four News, has a melody mixed with the corporate theme, and the budget music had a melody.

surely David Lowe has a trick or two up his sleeve

Whatever they do to the set, graphics, etc, they should keep the music! And they should bring back the full theme on the opening sequence, instead of the shorter version they use now.

Remember that the current look of Newsnight was unvieled only a few months before the BBC News corporate look. I imagine if they were going to make changes they would have done so then.

Depends when you're watching - they play the full end theme if there are segments contained within the programme they need to credit, or if it's the end of the week for example.

I don't think it was anticipated at the time of introduction that the generic look would be extended across all BBC News output - therefore Newsnight may not have been relaunched as such

I'm remember someone said once that Newsnight wasn't corporate as it isn't produced by BBC News. Is this true?

If so, why does Michael Beurk always say at the end of the 10 that 'Newsnight is starting now on BBC Two'.

Is it produced by BBC News?

I am sure BBC News produce it, but it has it's own team I suppose and hasn't adopted the generic look.

There are some things that'll never go corporate because it doesn't really suit their style. To be honest I was surprised Westminster Live and Despatch Box went corporate, but Newsnight's theme is really well known and has been used for 22 years now, so c@t could be right, and it might just get corporate set, a bit like Working Lunch.

I'm surprised Newsround didn't go corporate on it's relaunch. That would have ben really easy to do...
