I think they should get Claire Frisby (Look North) on News 24, just for the great name really.

Or maybe Peter Levy..'And there's more on BBC Radio Five Live, On the air right now'. And he could banter with Carol Kirkwood or someone!

BBC Scotland i would imagine would have the largest regional news programme than any other of the BBC`s and yet not one person from Reporting Scotland has ever been on BBC News 24

Why not ? We certainly have the best news readers

In fact, David Robertson who presents Reporting Scotland previously presented the 0600 - 0900 hour slot on BBC News 24 before the new Breakfast show was launched in October 2000!

I'm glad you've all noticed our new overnight presenter. Heather is here on attachment from South Today - initially for 3 months. There are a few new faces in the pipeline over the next few weeks/months as well - keep watching!
In answer to other questions ... Susan Osman does Saturday nights for us - she works during the week at Points West/Radio Bristol. Brenda Patterson is a freelance, Lucy Hockings still works at BBC World, and Eileen has gone to Ireland as a correspondent for RTE.

I've never had a chance to watch British 24-hour news channels at length, but it seems to me that, especially on News 24, there is a high turn over rate. In America faces on news networks to change for years sometimes -- so, is there a high turn over rate, or am I just ill-informed?

Nicky, what are the 'slots' on BBC World, e.g. for News 24 there is 0600-0900, 0900-1300, 1300-1500, etc...
Also, how long do they join News 24 overnight?

I've noticed that Geeta Guru Murthy is making a come-back over Easter -  on the overnight shift from tomorrow night. What would Geeta's e-mail address be?

geeta.guru_murthy@bbc.co.uk?

BBC World news schedule. I know that two shifts are 16.00-20.00, 20.00-24.00. BBC World joins news 24 for the 01.00, 02.00, 03.00, 04.00 and 05.00 bulletins. BBC World pulls out at 25 past the hour when the world news sting is played. Both channels then have weather before there usual programs. It must seem odd to viewers of BBC World who watch our overnight slot (their daytime) as it is a different studio and format to what the usual BBC world news is.

Yeah, thats a point, I wonder what people in India, where it would be day, think about it - they change over studio at an odd hour?

So, can anyone tell me the BBC World slots not mentioned in the message above or Geeta Guru Murthy's e-mail address?
