It was a nice long Julia's Theme for those who missed... Ah bliss!

The version that Dan supplied sounds very old, whereas last night on EastEnders it sounded rather 'up-to-date'. Is there a copy of the more up-to-date one floating around somewhere? Or does anyone have it?

Sounds old cos that mp3 I made is from the 1985 record release of it, if I find a better version I'll post it.

There are 3 Julia's Themes floating about...

1985 Original
1993 Jazzy
1994 Updated

Question is, where to we find the latter... Confused

Do we know who created them? Simon May did one of them I know of, but did he do the others?

Yup, he did all of them - he got rather p*ssed when he had to redo the theme after the you-know-what theme! Wink

And it's definately called Julia's Theme, there's no other name associated with it?
CO
Conrad
Yep. If you want to be blunt - you can call it the slow theme, the special theme or the twiddly-piano-bit-before-the-credits-theme, but its proper name was Julia's Theme, named after the late Julia Smith, creator of the soap.

Someone will need to get the recent (1994) clean version, it's really good!

I like the music they play before the end EastEnders credits are shown. Kinda gives it that finishing touch to nation gripped by a big storyline. If only EastEnders used music in their episodes a bit more, it would make a tiny improvement.

That sort of music hardly gives suspense though - are you saying they should use less of the doofs!? Sad

I'm glad British soaps (except Night and Day, but that's pants anyway) have largly kept away from incidental music and Fantasy scenes, as I hate them. I like the more realistic feel of soaps and don't want music to tell me how to feel, and I don't want to see/hear thoughts/dreams/flashbacks as they seem dodogy.
