ITV just going to have to stick this out. Its a shame but alot of people know this was going to happen. It needed to be placed at 10.40 and given some space to try stuff out instead of being rammed into our TV with a tight a strange format.

And the article ends with the line:
"‘The Nightly Show’ airs weeknights on Channel 5."
I originally thought after the news would have been better, but then was convinced by the marketing spin that the news wasn't bringing in a lot of viewers so it was to try something different. In hindsight they should have added it post news in a slightly longer slot followed by some more comedy. It really hasn't helped with the different presenters making every week feel like a totally different programme.
For what it's worth I feel that Davina has been brilliant and added much needed energy to proceedings.

Well apart from a couple of episodes after Broadchurch that's been the case since week one - and News at Ten would probably have got a Broadchurch bounce anyway.

NOW there have a man with a piano.. and still no proper titles, there must need those 20sec to broadcast more promos.

Don't know what you are getting at, The titles were never at the start even when they had some.
I don't know who made the shorter version of the Dermot promo, but I didn't really work, missing out the joke and just leaving in the pay off, which didn't work on its own.
The problem this week is that Dermot is more than capable, but the monologue story/jokes is really slow. Literally, 10 minutes of the show has been spent on monologue, with another 12 mins of the show left.

I have no idea what your goodself is talking about now? its this point were we ask for new balls?
1.8million for last night's show with a 7.3 million lead in from Broadchurch. Not great.
Dermot seems to have won social media over though. The only host so far to do so.
And rightly so. Dermot should have been offered this from the off and given the full run to craft it into his show, the only problem is that if itv want it to become a bear enough year round production in the future they will need a host that is not associated with any big shows. Dermot just seemed like a natural.
