Thank you so much.

Because we clearly couldn't find a way to read that for ourselves.

Something also very interesting on the f tn forums, bearning in mind most of the members are morons, (actually alot of people here are registerd there), it says f tn will be closing down and will be being replaced by National Geographic LIte.

I hope it's true. It might be actually, bearing in mind that ftn are having a cashflow crisis.

I really hope that's not true. I don't know how I'll cope without my daily dose of Jay Leno.

Next week alot is going to be expected on freeview: The birthday of f tn and UKBI and of course, the expected launch of daytime, with still nothing.

When did TMF and the Hits launch? was it also the 15th of jan?

Nope. The Hits and TMF launched when Freeview launched late in 2002. The Hits celebrated its first birthday a few months back. They were part of the original line up of channels/

Ftn and Brightideas launched in January - suppose because of it taking more time to find programmes, set up etc.

TMF and The Hits both launched in October 2002 as part of the original Freeview lineup (although one of them had been broadcasting a test loop of about 9 or 10 songs for several weeks previously).

The delay with UKBI came up after problems with the channel's name. The buildup to it's launch had a very tight schedule after UKTV were only brought on board to do this second Freeview channel quite late in the day (at first it was only planned to have UK History on Freeview). They wanted to call it UK HomeStyle (the logo did appear in print on early Freeview promotional material), but someone claimed an infringement of their copyright if UKTV used that name, and this caused the channel to be shelved for a short time whilst they established what was to be done (this led to the Freeview slot being renamed to 'uktv channel', and the UKTV corporate logo to appear onscreen which led to much poorly researched information on Freeview claiming that a channel called 'UKTV+' existed - indeed to this day I think QVC still lists a 'UKTV+' on their Freeview information strap when they are doing DTT receivers), then it was eventually decided to launch UKBI and FTN on the same day.

So where could Daytime go then? Well 14 will more than likely be for More 4 so that leaves 15, or the next numbers are 25, 26, 27, 28, 29. I think 15 would be the best place.

Anyway, Wonder why BBCi on DTT has 14 as Price Drop?

Early tests for price drop did appear on channel 14, it moved up next to Bid Up later on, although the channel never actually broadcast from 14 so I don't know why BBCi ever listed it there.

I think it's time for a little reshuffle on some channel numbers. ATM you've got QVC and TV Travelshop on 16 and 17, whilst their follow shopping channels bid up and price drop appear on 23 and 24. Aswell as that you've got the two music channels on 18 and 21, separated by UKBI and FTN.

I would leave most channels the same, but go for rearranging the 10's and 20's like this:

11 - TMF
12 - The Hits
13 - UK History
14 - UK BrightIdeas
15 - FTN
16 - Daytime
20 - QVC
21 - TV Travelshop
22 - Bidup.TV
23 - Pricedrop.TV

I agree that its time for a re-shuffle.

Thankfully my digital box allows me to shuffle the channels round like cwathen has done there. Best thing to do at the moment.

Only problem with shuffling is that it means tv listing mags and tv promos to change their numbers. As channels come and go it might start to look a bit messy.

Not sure if I'm understanding what I have just read, but on my OnDigital box Bid-up.tv is on 14.
