As far as I'm aware there are no plans to move Crimewatch out of Studio 1 where the set can stay from month-to-month without affecting any other production work.

My understanding was that it was only in Studio 1 because Pobol was late moving out or couldn't be worked around as originally expected?

The cost of a permanent standing set and lighting rig purely for 1 day a month (excluding Road Show) must be ridiculous...

For a show that should be set and struck within 24 hours this is surely ridiculous? Surely it would be better to share a studio space and lighting rig between multiple shows, rather than have it for just one monthly show?

Do they own the lights on the rig, or do they use that peculiar "per show" budget for long term rentals?

I know that with ownership comes inherent costs associated with repairs and renewals, but really - for some shows I know they could have bought the lanterns 10 times over with what they were paying to RB Lighting.

I have no idea how BBC Wales are budgeting Crimewatch, but from the rumblings I hear, the lamps are rented, not owned, and permanently rigged. I have no idea what deal BBC Wales have though.
