I can't beleive Phillip Schofield is doing a shameless rip off of Noel's Christms Presents for ITV! Shocked

I can't believe Noel's Christmas Presents isn't returning as part of his deal with the BBC - though I think his Deal or No Deal contract prevents him doing other "daytime" programming, even on Christmas Day!

Oh stop being so melodramatic. Why is it a shameless ? Noel's Christmas Presents hasn't aired for about a decade do they still hold the monopoly on surprise Christmas based entertainment shows ? This show hasn't even aired yet, it may well be completely different.

Depends which magazine you get - Total TV Guide (or whatever its called) and TV and Sat week often feature US series and even give them the covers from time to time - probably because these series are on often on Sky/cable channels e.g DH is on E4 as well as C4.

TV Choice went on sale down here today and with a Corrie cover for the double issue - I was shocked Shocked

Of course when I recovered from the shock I had to buy that as well Wink

Out of the pricier TV mags actually Total TV Guide is probably my personal choice.

Noticed today that Heat's double issue has listings from the 16th - 29th December - bit strange!

Id choose TV Times out of the more expensive tv guides (its only about 10p cheaper than Radio Times!) as I like the soap guide however the listings arent as good as they once were.

Heat and several of those celeb magazines always seem to have a double issue like the tv guides at Christmas. All About Soap is fortnightly and their Christmas issue covers 16th-29th December. However thats only because it has fallen that way, and they dont have tv listings anyway.

I picked mine up today, couldn't see them anywhere yesterday, but our Morrisons had them piled up high today, in the same special stand as TV Times, TV Quick etc.

It just gets so annoying seeing the channels constantly copying each other instead of trying to be more innovative more often.

Same here, none yesterday but piled up allover the shop today

I also think Total TV Guide is quite good. I wonder, as we approach digital switchover, will any magazine focus on Freeview channels only, and have full detailed listings (rather than squashing them up) for all Freeview channels?

Whereas in the past we had different regional versions, maybe in the future they could do Freeview and all channels versions?

Ive noticed in WHSMITH that TV Times, Whats on TV, Radio Times and TV Choice have the most copies. Some of the packets havent even been opened yet!

I also notice shops which dont usually sell Radio Times (well at least in the town I live the dont usually) like Boots for example, have loads of RT on their shelves. Usually my local boots only stocks TV Choice, Whats on TV and the celebrity mags like Heat!

That would make sense - I'd still like to know what I'm (not) missing out on, but having a Freeview version which gives priority to Freeview channels and then less space to things like Sky Movies would make sense - and similarly for Sky to give more space to channels like UKTV, Discovery etc.
