Someone else having ago at the Sky [One] Mix format then, or at least similar to it.

The thing is having it exactly 24 hours might be problematic, perhaps 23 hours might be better but I can see there would be difficulties there.

How is 23 better than 24? And why exactly is 24 a problem?

I'd have thought it was obvious. But you're making programmes of the same nature or even the same programmes compete with each other.

You could argue it's only really a problem for Big Brother, but I think it would be better if you could watch yesterdays episode at 8pm, then tune to Channel 5 for that days. Also if someone was out at say 8pm one night it may be due to an daily commitment so giving a different time again might be better.

Isn't that what Channel 5+1 is there for? And Sky+? Channel 5+23 is sure to confuse many people rather than convenience people.

The biggest question is what are Ofcom's views of broadcasting last nights News the day after? Would they be allowed to without some sort of caption or disclaimer?

What about overnight programming like Super Casino ? That is a problem.

I expect there will be a 3 hour caption.

From the above link:

Quote:
Between 7pm and midnight, the new channel will broadcast whatever Channel 5 was showing 24 hours ago.

For the remainder of its broadcast hours, the channel will show teleshopping, except on Freeview where the channel will close down overnight, and return at 10am.

As there is already for +1.

Also I expect the news will be replaced by a caption as mentioned above. I wonder if the 2 minute bulletins will feature promos instead to save people thinking the show they're tuning into can't be shown.

Or simulcast what is being shown in Channel 5. It may catch a very small few more viewers.

I doubt it will literally be Channel5+24. It will be it's own channel with it's own presentation and, most important of all, it's own adverts.

5Later is to Channel 5 as 4seven is to Channel 4.

Oh that's true actually. Although presumably they'd have to signify that it is live?

Then again switching to live might be too much bother to go to for an automated service.
