I didn't see the program start, but when I turned over they had already lost sound and I saw 30 seconds of a silent report before BBC Two jumped in with the standard apology caption. This is the second night of this years Lambing Live and the second night they have had problems. Yesterday they had problems with the link and we had picture and sound breakup although I don't think it ever quite fell off air. BBC Two overlaid an apology caption yesterday and they showed the weather conditions that were causing the problems as they just have again this evening.
Who would make the decision on which apology caption to use? Yesterday when the picture and sound was breaking up slightly, BBC Two used a small caption at the bottom of the screen and we could continue to watch the programme. Today they cut away from the programme when the sound is lost even though the pictures were fine. Wouldn't it have been better to keep the pictures, even if they had to abandon the planned programme for a while and just showed a few shots of random sheep with a small apology caption.
And they are off again (audio and video lost this time).

They should just end the programme and put a filler in it's place. It has now gone off air 3 times in around 20 minutes.
EDIT : Filler programme in its place with bad sound.
Anyone know whether this OB is being done via satellite or terrestrial links? When it falls of air it looks more like an analogue link than a digital one.
Ah the irony! The filler programme has had sound problems!

"Well I am
very
sorry, were having a technical problem with our Coast programme at the moment (Coast being the filler programme used on the technical breakdown) "
