Pretty sure new episodes average around 1m, so a big call to keep R1BW on air, although I suspect they'll be banking on Gaga attracting similar figures.

It's also got to be weighed up against the similar *outrage* that would have undoubtedly raged should she have been cut off in her, erm, 'prime'.

Some of the people I follow on twitter were becoming livid at her being late on stage.

If you have Five Live on now, Adrian Goldberg is sitting in for Stephen Nolan & he'll be discussing the Gaga at some point between now & 1am.

(Or do as I might do, check out IPlayer tomorrow instead!)

Gaga was amazing, I was scared they will cut her short but BBC made the right decision. Comments on Twitter show it too, everyone watched and loved it.

I'd certainly agree with sticking with the live music but it's occasions like this that show how poor some of the EPGs are, Virgin was useless so I had to remember to tape a couple of shows after it just to make sure. Apparently those with Sky only got the last few mins too? I thought theirs would have stayed up to date?

I was trying to record both episodes of Family Guy after on BBC HD and although the times updated correctly on the Sky EPG both recordings failed, which I find extremely annoying. I even tried deleting and resetting the records while they were on and while they had the record symbol on the guide the red record light didn't come on once. Mad

Mine recorded everything seamlessly!

From BBC Three or BBC HD? Not realising the performance overran I tried watching the first episode from my planner 10 minutes after the intended start, before the guide realised it wasn't on, so that might have confused it. Even then though it did show them on the planner to be recorded. They both show as Clashed, even though there wasn't a clash.

I was worried my Sky+ recordings of Family Guy on BBC HD would have failed, but everything seemed to work fine.

Does BBC Three have a dedicated pres operation or is it staffed by a director who is looking after other channels? I guess at times when they have live programmes that could overrun like the Big Weekend and the Eurovision semis they might increase the staffing so that the pres can become more reactive?

It's fairly flexible - CBBC/BBC Three share a playout chain, as do CBeebies/BBC Four - and they'll share a director during the day (while another does prep for later) and late at night, but get a director each during prime time. (I'm not sure how this arrangement has changed with the advent of BBC HD)

I never knew Family Guy was so popular!

Well, 5 years ago it would have no doubt been Two Pints of Lager and A Packet of Crisps... so... makes a change. Laughing

At one stage the joke was that BBC Three was really BBC Two Pints, it was on so much.

Incidently Two Pints returned for a new series just a few weeks ago with very little advance publicity. TBH it's now in "is that still on?" territory (with only Natalie Casey and Will Mellor left) and hopefully they will kill it after this series.

That was the stage when BBC Three just felt stale and needed a refresh which eventually came in 2008.
