Previous BBC Studios thread was archived, but I noticed this logo on the announcement for Good Omens, an Amazon/BBC Studios co-production. Presumably ahead of further commercial work.
Have to say, I thought 'itv' too when I first saw it. Must be something to do with the 'i'. Strange font. Seems to be the abandonment of another one of the golden rules of branding as laid down by Lambie-Nairm with the introduction of the BBC Blocks in 1997 (which specified that Gill Sans was used for all corporate division names).

Oh we've completely arrived full circle now, where "if it's got a name, it's got a [uniquely designed] logo".
I'm strongly of the opinion that these things go in cycles. The above is unfortunately hideous.
Looks very ITV circa 1998 to me - but it just doesn't look great. I think this is only signifying that there will be more inconsistency with BBC branding in the future.
I think the typography is poor, and the whole logo seems completely random in the context of the wider organisation. On the other hand, it's also completely consistent with how random the rest of the organisation's logos are. Maybe it will make sense with future rebranding...
