I heard somewhere that Nine Network is having a major rebrand in 2006. Is this true? Does anyone have any info to follow up on this, because I'm so bloody sick of those stupid bloody balls! Mad
Yes - Bruce Dunlop & Associates (responsible for ITV's current look, I believe - as well as those "stupid bloody balls" on Nine) has been called in to revamp the network's branding. Although a lot of people are focussing on the graphical side of things, I understand that part of BDA's job is to come up with a whole new slogan. Nine's been using "Still The One" since Adam was a boy - so what they come up with will be interesting. Of course, BDA also came up with 7's current "GOTTALOVEIT" strategy... So make of that what you will.

How much british and royal news would feature on australian TV?

Well the ABC airs many shows from the U.K, mostly from the BBC, ITV or Channel 4.
Popular U.K shows currently on include Doctor Who. Also the Charles and Camilla wedding was on Channel 7.

"GOTTALOVEIT" sucks as well. That dancing TV is so pointless...

There's more to Australian TV than Neighbours and Home and Away.

What are your biggest home-grown hits?

Aussie Commercial TV generally consists of American style game shows then the news (local, national and international all in one programme from the local capital city) then a current affairs programme (Quite trashy makes "Tonight with Trevor" very high brow) followed by lots of American Imported programmes or some low budget Aussie offerings like Blue Heelers or sport..... that's about all I thankyou - think Channel 5 UK.....

Oh, the TV Man has grown on me - I like it in promos and idents, but never liked it on the RPG (returning from break graphics) - too distracting!

Wouldn't say Seven is anything like Five myself.

The Aussie's biggest home-grown hit at the moment would probably be Home & Away at the moment, and certainly so in terms of International audience.

There's also Blue Heelers and All Saints.

They have a lot of US shows on over there.

We've got a new Aussie show hitting C4 in the Autumn hopefully called Headland, produced by ex-Home & Away Script Producer Bevan Lee and a Seven production to boot. Looking forward to that.

It that the show set on a University campus which originally was supposed to be a H&A spin-off?

Yeah, that's the one. It's filmed (and set) in Wollongong. Stars Sam Atwell (H&A's Kane) and Conrad Coleby (All Saints) amongst others.

Currently the biggest show airing in Australia is Desperate Housewifes. It always has above 2 million viewers watching every Monday night on Channel 7.
Lost doesn't do to bad either.

Currently the commercial TV stations are throwing everything at us. With Seven (Desperate Housewives), Nine (Temptation: The New Sale of The Century) and Ten (Big Brother 4)

The OC was a ratings winner for Ten but lately it's starting to decline...

Yeah, plus there's been a bit of a resurgence from the ABC.
