BBC Hull currently live streaming a 30 minute extra edition of Look North on their Facebook page due to the City of Culture announcement. First time I've seen a region stream an extra bulletin exclusively on their Facebook page.
Strange. You'd think they would've opted out of The One Show to air that on TV.
I'm sure that viewers in many parts of the patch outside of Hull and its immediate orbit (and even many within?) couldn't care less about the city getting Culture status.
There'll be viewers in e.g. Lincoln, Skegness or Hunstanton who've never set foot in Hull in their whole life nor ever will, who would've been narked about missing The One Show (especially if someone or something they like was due to be on the show).
Never thought I'd hear of people being sad that they've missed The One Show, personally I'd rather stare at a blank screen for half an hour . Anyway the live stream wasn't really much to fuss about in the end, mainly just Uncle Peter interviewing the boss of City of Culture in the studio and doing his usual over the top laugh every now and again, wouldn't really have made good TV. Nice to see them putting the extra effort in though.

When Derry got city of culture of status the announcement was actually made on the One Show. You'd think they could have done something similar for Hull.
