Didn't want to add to the main Westminster security incident thread, but worth cataloging in this thread.

Colin Brazier and Jayne Secker carried on after 3pm and still on air after 4pm.

It looks like Kay Burley will now continue anchoring from Millbank (outside as the Sky Westminster studio is in the cordon) as of 4.20pm.

Not only that, she presented tonight's Pick TV bulletin AND recorded links for a half-hour syndicated programme that's sent to international clients -- all while still in the chair.

I take it you were too busy or too famous these days to present the Pick bulletin? Wink

Seriously, Sophy was excellent on tonight's Press Preview with decent guests. Certainly deserving of the dep role for Anna Jones.

They wanted me but I was unavailable. Or not good enough. Can't remember which.

I very nearly ended up doing it again on Thursday, actually, such were the logistics... but Gemma Morris from Swipe saved my bacon.

Wednesday was literally a situation of: "We've got to get this on-air. On this of all nights, we can't tell TX to run the backup promo. We've got no presenter or reporter available to do it because they're all flat-out or not in the building, and you've done one or two bits on-screen before, so go ahead and do it yourself."

Sometimes, that's just the way it goes. *shrugs*

"World News Review" - 25 minutes or so of the week's best VTs from around the globe interlinked by a presenter and sent mostly to airlines and U.S. shipping vessels. It's also been used once or twice on TV when we couldn't play out the CBS Evening News for logistical or legal reasons.

Anna Jones is its most regular host, with Mark Longhurst and Martin Stanford each doing a stint before her. Until about three weeks ago, I had been its executive producer since its inception in 2014, but with the relaunch of the Ten, we decided it was best that I focus all my energies on helping the evening team - most especially with the Press Previews.
