Had Sky News on this afternoon and there's been a couple.

A bit earlier the ticker stopped moving and obviously someone did something to remove it but it resulted in the screen going super-cinemascope letterbox. The report was interupted so they could go to an ad break to fix the problem, which was fixed a few seconds before the break!

Just now Allan King introduced the weather, Kay Burley must have heard something was up and started to do a bit of an ad lib about her trip around Britain last week, the sponsorship sting eventually played but then no weather. "I think Sarah's having a bit of a sit down" said Kay.

Apparently... if you reset Sky News' ticker machine it screws with the vision mixer's key which then crashes the desk and hence the channel has to go to an adbreak while they reset the desk.

The graphics on the weather map just froze and started flashing before the last ad break .

Anyone know what happened?

Tee hee hee... it seems Sky News aren't just content with making their own blunders.
They now rely on the Sun (prop. R Murdoch) to make them on its behalf.

Today the Sun in a piece called "ET phoned home" takes a swipe at BBC News 24 which it claims "no one watches".
It's obviously not the same BBC News 24 who, for July, in multi-channel homes (including digital receiver homes) pulled AHEAD of Sky News in viewer ratings and in overall viewer share.
