The BBC will finish by 6:00 GMT / 1:00 ET, handing over to Breakfast, so will this be an issue?

There are lots of studios in Times Square (MTV for example), or the possibility of a temp structure... As far as I know, the BBC hasnt said anything about TSS?

I wonder if BBC will be using this GMA studio or if ABC News has dressed it up for their Election HQ. When it launched a few months ago it was said it will made available to outside broadcasters to use. Hence the walls and rostrum are all screens and can be changed for any broadcast or broadcaster to use. But something tells me ABC NEWS is using this space. Or I'd be suprised if they built something on the ground level studio.

ABC has deconstructed this set for the election set to tbe built.

Does anyone know who the ITV News team are covering Election Night in the US?

It's interesting that they've gone with Andrew Neil and Katty Kay. I know traditionally Dimbleby has presented these things, but I assumed Huw Edwards would replace him (as he's expected to do with UK elections).

Also, from the press release, it looks like the output will be simulcast on television and radio? Is that right, or have I just misread it?

I remember Huw Edwards did 2008.

It certainly looks that way - interesting.

I suspect that's just worded badly, I can't imagine they'd make do with TV audio as a replacement for a radio programme.

I heard an interview with Rhod Sharp from 5 Live the other day, and this is what he said about BBC Radio's plans:
Quote:
Peter (Bowes), in fact, is in LA, and he’ll be covering the California
end of things. And I’ll be doing the mirror image here, because Jim Naughtie and Tim
Franks and others will be anchoring it from Washington. I’m going to be up in New
Hampshire basically taking on one of the early voting states, so we will know early
on in the night what the national result is in New Hampshire, and if Trump wins in
New Hampshire, it’s going to have a good night so we’ll build say that categorically.
Conversely, if he doesn’t do very well in New Hampshire we’ll know very soon which
way the wind is blowing. It’s a cliffhanger, well, you know, all bets are off. Equally,
control of the Senate could be 50/50, I think that’s the current projection, but it
requires a woman called Maggie Hassan to win the Senate seat in New Hampshire.
So I’ll be tracking that too. And once I’ve done that, I think my job is done. So I’ll
have a couple of hours in to the late show with Phil Williams on 5 Live.

Love that one of Emily Maitlis' children has spent the day ringing random numbers in the US conducting an 'opinion poll' on the election....
