But what would the cost of buying and installing a robotic head for this camera at Newsround be?

Price doesn't really make your post any more valuable...

Can't a new user ask a question around here any more... Rolling Eyes There are forum police to decide what goes and what doesn't here, they're called the moderators.

StephenBailey, the cost of a robotic camera head for a studio camera is probably extremely prohibitive given that the weekend broadcasts of Newsround are few and far between (and the majority of the audience probably doesn't even notice)...

A new user can ask A question, or A FEW. Not 4 billion, an exaggeration...maybe.

Wow. Never knew there was a one question rule nowadays. Do you realise how much of an arse you're coming across as?

Anyway, cost is probably the definitive answer in this case. It's far, far cheaper to have a single locked off camera for a bulletin. And that's all that is needed in this case - the studio is far too small for anything fancy!

Being the super-duper lieutenant general at school seems to have gone to your head. Especially since your "let me Google that for you" gave no information on the costs of a robotic camera head.

Is it still the case that Newsround and the CBBC set share a studio in the style that Tyne Tees pioneered? (6m 42s)

If so, I'd imagine the sets really are packed in.

Yep... this image gives a sense of the layout and how they're packed in together. Obviously the Newsround set has been slightly expanded to the right and also towards the office set since this pic.

I think it would be good for Newsround to expand. The best way to do this in my eyes is for CBBC to move into Blue Peters studio and share because it would then give Newsround a whole studio and as it would mean less sharing as Blue Peter is on only once a week.

When the BBC finds an endless pot of money that might work well. In reality the Blue Peter studio isn't dedicated to Blue Peter, so booking it 7 days a week as you're proposing would be cost prohibitive.

Has anyone been watching Newsround on a weekend?

The camera never moves position and they seem to just have one camera.

The show does have a small team so having a cameraman would not be possible, but couldn't they remotely control the camera?

They're lucky they've not got to the point yet where they have to use selfie sticks.
