I don't think they will have a revamp till ITV gets one, however they used to use that same set they have now when it was HTV NEWS, all they did was modify the newsroom backdrop and add white squares to the wallpaper
I do agree with you, it is very dark and dingy.

Talking of ITV WALES NEWS, where is Andrew Jones lately.
I seem to miss the GMTV morning bulletins when he says: 'Good-Morning'

Well Justina Simpson has been doing the GMTV morning bulletins recently.
Never mind Andrew, what about Zoe, it appears she is back as sports presenter when she did do the 6pm bulletin as anchor with Lucy a few times.

Backdrop of Cardiff? If you visit ITV Wales, you'll see that it is quite a trek away from the Cardiff itself. In fact, it's not even located within the border of the city of Cardiff, but is perched on a hill in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Perhaps they could set up a camera at the BT tower (next to the stadium - the views from the top floor are stunning) which over looks all of Cardiff, most of Newport and even the Severn bridge 25 miles away.

When is ITV Wales News getting a new set? Im sick of the current one - I want the same set as the other regions have, but with a back drop of Cardiff.
The smaller studio used for morning and weekend bulletins is fine and can stay as it is.

Yes I know where HTV Wales studios are, never been inside but driven past. They could put a camera anywhere in Wales for the backdrop but it was be nice to have it in the capital, Cardiff.
Having just watched the ITV London lunchtime bulletin id like the ITV Wales set to look like that.

Well I don't really want to see Rhodri Morgan perched on a bonquette evading Jonathan Hill's questioning -- whilst blue squares float past behind him [can't see HTV organising a Cardiff backdrop myself].
And that enormous BREAKING NEWS strap just won't wash with that turquoise spaceship set.
Can't they keep an ITV style desk?

Why not? Granada Reports have a Manchester backdrop and rightly so, so HTV Wales should have Cardiff.
And surely its time to get rid of that desk after having it since 1999! They could even have the weekend and morning bulletins coming from the main set so could get rid of that small studio with the weird switch for the sound.
