I sit in a chair - just like anyone else...

Good answer! But what type of chair...I need to know...rocking? comfy? office? inflatable?

....ergonomically designed?

Seriously though, noggin has a very good point. If sensitive data regarding the locations of studios is splashed about on the internet, it makes it very easy for terrorists or demonstrators of any kind to attack the broadcasters. I know it seems like we're being kill-joys, but it is quite important.

And it's not just terrorists. All broadcasters get a number of fake calls stating there is a bomb on the premises. If the caller has specific information about studios it can give these calls more credence.

Currently a nice bentwood chair in my living room, and before that a comfy sofa that is beginning to sag a bit. A little earlier I was sitting in a directors chair (one of those canvas and wooden devices) - though nowhere near a studio. Those are all the chairs I've sat in today.

It wasn't Mr Bin Laden it was Mr (and Mrs) Real IRA... And something did blow up - and it caused rather a lot of damage.

Some of us heard it go off...

(It is worth remembering that people were injured in that attack - and many more could have been. Not mentioning studo locations isn't being paranoid - it is being sensible as far as I'm concerned)

Not that studio security isn't an important issue, but it might be worth pointing out that the Real IRA didn't procure secret information about studio locations before penetrating the very heart of the BBC News operation and blowing up NC-whatever... they just drove up to TV Centre in a cab and did the deed.

So let's not go over the top; providing a floor plan might be a bit unrealistic but surely the OP's questions could be roughly answered without going off on one about how we get a step closer to oblivion every time someone asks where the the kettle is at ITN.

By the way the answer to the question 'why is there no studio 3' can be easily provided without compromising security: it's because studio 3, in broadcasting slang, used to mean the PUB! Zany but true! Time was when studio staff would all knock off to 'studio 3' for a quick pint of 'camera lubricant', the crafty buggers. Ahh, those were the days... scrumping apples for uncle Jim... jumpers for goalposts...

Interestingly there is no Radio studio 3 in Television Centre, although there are studios 1,2,4,5,6 and 7.

This is simply because studio 3 was axed from the plans when the budget was cut during the building of the News Centre. The other studios had all been named and the plans drawn up by then, so it was though sensible to keep the original numbers rather than cause confusion by renumbering.

I think we need to know the colours, it's for a project I'm doing.

There is no Studio N4 at the BBC. Rumour has it that this was because N4 was the nickname for the BBC Club Bar at TV Centre.

That's an intersting anecdote britbat. IIRC correctly there is also a odd story behind why the former BBC New Broadcasting House in Manchester (now threesixtymedia) has strangely numbered studios.

Although I understand the security aspect behind not issuing detailed information about the ITN Building, it seems odd that The London Studios provide detailed floorplans of all their studios on their commercial website (which is quite interesting):

Surely that is an equally enticing target for idiots like Mr Bin Laden & Co. Shocked

That's Granada TV in Manchester, they have their Studios numbered in even numbers, going from 2 to 12, Studio 2 being home to Granada Reports, can't say for the rest.

Apologies for that Confused , I knew it must be one of the studio complexes in Manchester Very Happy

I thought Corrie was now made in a large facility called "Studio One", whihc would go against their "even numbers only" policy (or have I got that wrong too?)
