No it's straight to the point. Care to explain how the post is rude and obnoxious?
Because what gives Skygeek, or any other member, the right to tell people to stop doing anything - that should be down to mods.
Because fantasy rota chat is beyond tedious at times and serves no real purpose.
There are places for stuff like that and it's called Digital Spy. If I had the knowledge and worked in the industry like Skygeek does, I'd say the same thing.

Then don't read it or if it bothers you so much, report the post and let the mods decide.
Someones knowledge and work experience shouldn't give them the right to boss people around. Skygeek once again comes out of 'retirement' merely to shoot down a user - that sort of input is hardly of any real value nor can you say it's making use of his knowledge / experience.

Look at the number of kudos my recent posts have got compared to yours. Long-established members think it's a good thing that I know what I'm talking about and agree that rota fantasists can take their self-pleasuring-in-written-form elsewhere.

Or the member could learn from Skygeek's experience instead of fantasising about rotas that have no basis in reality.
We're fortunate here that unlike DS, members 'self-regulate' their comments so that they're acceptable and on-topic, those who get silly about fantasy rotas, presenters private lives etc are reminded that it's not acceptable here. The other forum allows that and that's their decision to go downmarket. However it's not for me or the majority of members here.
Fantasy rota threads annoy more people than find it interesting and just saying you want to get rid of a load of the presenters doesn't move the conversation along.
However as mentioned in the pinned thread, please use the 'report this post' facility rather than complain directly in the thread. Otherwise we end up with three pages discussing the rights and wrongs...again.
Karen Allen has finished her posting in Johannesburg after 12 years covering Africa and Afghanistan and is taking some study leave at Harvard according to her twitter feed.
Nicholas Witchell reporting on the Northern Ireland political situation is unusual is it not, has he changed roles?
He didn't do yesterday's story about the Queen recovering from her heavy cold either.
According to the BBC, he became Royal and Diplomatic correspondent in 1997. Perhaps the potential for the Northern Irish fallout and the peace process etc, it came under his brief?
He has previously covered the Ireland correspondent role in Belfast several times, so it's not new. Probably why he took on the role as he has an idea of what's going on.
Nick Higham has also been in a Belfast covering a few times over the years
Royal Correspondent tends to be one of the less busy briefs (hence why his predecessor Jennie Bond was frequently found in the studio reading daytime bulletins) so they often do other reporting, astoned as "News Correspondent".
