Very good idea Spotlight presenting from Boscastle and centring their whole programme on the floods (that's why I tuned in, to find out more) but it didn't seem to work as well as having one presenter on location and one in the studio a la last night's Six. The programme began with the headline bed and the male presenter murmuring 'Sorry to be a pain' followed by a five second pause before the headlines were read. The graphics were also all over the place.

I know it is difficult to piece together a programme like this, but I found it a bit of a shoddy job.

It looked like there was a problem with the sound at the beginning of the programme. I assume Justin and Teresa were supposed to read the headlines from Boscastle but the link was lost, so Victoria Graham (who was presumably in the studio in case of technical problems) had to fill them in. You might have noticed the sound was initially dodgy after the headlines as well.

It was just a pretty standard technical problem, and the team dealt with it well to prevent it lessening the impact of the programme.

I watched Spotlight, instead of Midlands Today, & the thing I noticed was, where MT would have only sent one presenter out, & kept the other in the studio, Spotlight sent 2 presenters out, & presented the entire show on location, where as MT would've only done roughly half the show on location, & the rest in the studio.

Top marks to Spotlight IMO
